My wife and I just traded in our 22 Explorer ST for a 26 Explorer Tremor. I'm going to miss the ST. We are in our 50's and have owned MANY vehicles from nearly all of the major manufacturers. That 22 Explorer ST is the first vehicle I've ever owned in my life that went 64000 miles without one single issue - I mean NOTHING at all. Wow. The Tremor has some big shoes to fill. But with the drive train identical, and 4 more years under Ford's belt building these things, I'm optimistic.
So far, the ride is softer in the Tremor. I would also say that the seats in the 22 ST were "perfect". The jury is still out on these new ones. The ST was definitely a bit "sexier" (4 chrome tips, red calipers, etc) but we do a lot of pretty heavy winter driving, and we expect the Tremor-ness to really help there.
